Everybody knows smoking is bad for you but they do it anyway. There's something very human about that, and you also see it happen in co-dependent relationships all the time," he told Billboard magazine. "This song applies to my relationship with girls, not to my actual relationship to smoking. It's the people we know are bad choices that are the hardest to resist."
