Songfacts®:

  • Chris Daughtry wrote this with Mitch Allan, who is lead singer of the band SR-71. Daughtry said of the song: "We didn't want to write about the same old thing. He brought up the theme of child abduction and it became a really deep and emotional song. A song shedding light on the people out there that do that sort of thing. As a parent, this hit close to home because no parent would want to go through that." >>

  • Liana from South Africa My folks love Daughtry and so my dad has been playing their music ever since I could remember. I used to love this song as a child, because I never knew what the lyrics were. Now at the age of 18, I remember that I loved the song, but I had no idea what the lyrics were. So I looked it up on Google, and at first I was a bit confused about what the song is about. But then I read it a second time, and I realised what it's actually about. It is such an amazing song and the message hits you so damn hard once you realise what they actually mean. I now love this song 100 times more. It's absolutely the most amazing song ever. Well done Daughtry, you never seize to impress.
  • VictoriaBecause of the line that says "You're not a person, you're a disease" I automatically thought this was a song about addiction.

  • Landon from Winchester, OhThis song really gets me thinking of how truly cruel this world is. I wish those people out there that do that could have the worst possible punishment; life imprisonment or lethal injection. I don't care which. I just want all that to stop.
