Songfacts®:

  • The opening song on Daughtry's fourth album also serves as its title track. Chris Daughtry explained the cut to The Hollywood Reporter: "It was one of the first songs written for the record and it's probably my favorite song on the album," he said. "I know it's going to raise questions and make people wonder if it's a Christian album or if it's a gospel album, and it's not. I hope people don't think it's sacrilegious because it's not used in the Christian sense of the word. The song is about being baptized and it has more of a sensual aspect and the record just felt like a fresh start. We just got our bass player [Josh Paul] back, he left for a while and we didn't know if he was coming back. And with the new member of the band, our keyboard player, it just feels like a new version of us."
