Songfacts®:

  • Ava Max is an American singer of Albanian heritage who was first introduced on Le Youth's 2017 track "Clap Your Hands." She started writing "Let It Be Me" on a piano in LA with a Dutch friend, Joren van der Voort, and by the end of the night they'd just about completed it. She gave it to her label, who sent it on to David Guetta. The French DJ then finished off the song with Max and her producer Cirkut in the studio.
  • "Let It Be Me" samples the "ta-da-da-das" from Suzanne Vega's "Tom's Diner." Max told Celebmix it was David Guetta's idea to put it into the song "and we kind of instantly knew that we had to keep it in there."
