  • This is the third single released by British singer-songwriter Delilah. Discussing the track, she told Digital Spy: "'Breathe' is the first song I wrote in first person. I call it my self-help song." The tune was released on May 14, 2012.
  • Delilah is accompanied on the song by English soul singer-songwriter Liam Bailey, who previously provided the vocals on Chase & Status' hit single, "Blind Faith."
  • Delilah started writing songs after her stepdad died in a car accident when she was 12. "My mum went into complete shock and the whole house fell silent because every song reminded her of him," she told The Independent. "The only way there was going to be music in the house was if I wrote it." This song, which documents her suffocating despair was written when she was 14.
