Songfacts®:

  • This track from Demi Lovato's third studio album, Unbroken, was co-written and produced by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder. Amongst the hits Tedder has penned for other artists are "Bleeding Love" for Leona Lewis and "Halo" for Beyoncé.
  • The flirty dance song features Dev, and the two vocalists share their crush on a boy. Dev's real name is Devin Tailes and many of you will already be familiar with her collaboration with Far East Movement "Like a G6" and her solo hit "In The Dark." Coincidentally, Tedder was the featured vocalist on the follow-up to "Like a G6" - "Rocketeer."
  • This song finds Demi trying out a much more pop/R&B sound with a lyrical content, which is more racy than anything else the Disney star has sung before. She told the Associated Press: "For me it was the transition from rock-pop to more R&B and I think I got that pretty nailed on the dot, and I'm really proud of that song. It's my next single and it is a little bit more racy. I say 'damn' in it (laughs). I'm getting older and the performance onstage was definitely, it was a bit sexier, but it wasn't too much. I don't want to scare off my fans. At the same time my fans are growing up with me, and I don't want to go way over the top."
  • The song was originally chosen as the second single from Unbroken, but "Give Your Heart a Break" was chosen instead. Demi said of the tune to MTV News before her label changed their minds: "It's just a fun, upbeat song. It's flirty, it's sexy, it's exciting and I love it. I think it's radio-friendly, and I think it's a good choice for a second single."
