Songfacts®:

  • This is the lead single from Christian metal group Demon Hunter's fifth studio album, The World Is a Thorn. It was the band's first release with new guitarists Patrick Judge and Ryan Helm.
  • Lead vocalist Ryan Clark explained the song's message: "When you get to a certain age, it seems like all of your peers have made up their minds regarding most issues of faith, and sometimes relaying the truth of Christ to these people may seem like a lost cause. This song is about never giving up that fight to reach these people. Even if their hearts have been hardened to the truth, it's important for us, as believers, to continue to fight for these lost souls. The lyrics of the bridge are 'No vow of silence, no remission of truth.' This should be our stance in regard to sharing our faith with others."
  • Bjorn "Speed" Strid of Swedish death metal band Soilwork contributes guest vocals to the song. Clark said: "We're all huge Soilwork Fans so this was an honor for us. Speed was on a very short wishlist of ours for guys that we would want to have do vocals on the record. So we were really, really excited when he agreed to do it."
  • Speed Strid also appears in the music video, which was filmed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by Endeavor Media (Anberlin, Owl City).
