  • Derek Hoke wrote this piano tune with his producer Dex Green, who came up with the title. "It's about calling out for a friend - whether it's a person, a feeling or a substance you may need when you're feeling low and need to feel better again," Hoke explained. "That's another sonically challenging tune, piano-based, but it blasts off in there. It's a cool tune."
  • Green also produced Hoke's previous album, Bring The Flood (2017). The pair began working on Electric Mountain prior to the COVID-19 pandemic but it was around a four-year journey to finally get it completed. After the quarantine lifted, they started meeting with guest musicians, writing more tracks, and brainstorming ideas for instrumentation.

"So we just kind of kept building it and adding some things and taking away some things and then listening to it over and over and over," Hoke told the Songfacts podcast. "And I was like, I think we're done with this thing. Four years later, it's like, all right, this is what I have to say. Finally."
