• In the '80s, kids in Southern California had a vernacular where they would add "age" to a word and stretch it out for emphasis. For example: "We can't skate at that park - there's too much copage." And "grindage," for some reason, was food.
  
  Bill Stevenson, the drummer for Descendents, was still a teenager and very much into that scene when he came up with this song, which he referred to as "my song." So for the title (which doesn't appear in the lyric) he called it "Myage."
• "Myage" is one of many early Descendents songs were lead singer Milo Aukerman rants about a girl. You'd think being in a band would smooth their path to the ladies, but at their high school the girls just weren't that into punk rock, leaving them frustrated. "I Wanna Be A Bear" is another Descendents song that covers this ground.
• This is the first track on Milo Goes To College, the debut album from the Descendents. A 2-minute blend of anger, snark and snare drums, it's a great introduction to the band, which built a legend in the punk rock community. The album title refers to lead singer Milo Aukerman, who refused to give up his schooling for the band. Indeed, he went to college, forcing the band into hiatus until he had time to return. Aukerman ended up splitting his career between biochemistry and the band.
• There are two other songs on the Milo Goes To College album that also end in "age": "Bikeage" and "Tonyage." Nobody seems to remember how "Bikeage" got its name, but "Tonyage" was written by their bass player, Tony Lombardo.
• "Myage" was one of the first songs written by Bill Stevenson, who started producing the band on their next album. According to Milo Aukerman, Stevenson found a bass in a garbage can and rescued it. It didn't have all its strings, but Stevenson was still able to come up with the bassline for the song on the instrument.
