    Banhart told Q magazine about his daft slice of exotica: "Fig In Leather's my euphemism for a midlife crisis archetype. The song takes place in this hotel and this particular person is trying to impress a much younger person with outdated technology. 'Oh, come up to my room, I have a Frigiaire, it's very cooool, I have an answering machine...' There's a tragicomedy to that."
