Songfacts®:

  • This is the first single from American groove metal band DevilDriver's sixth album, Winter Kills. It was the band's first album to feature bassist Chris Towning, who was a touring member from 2012 until joining permanently in February 2013.
  • Lead vocalist Dez Fafara told Artist Direct about the song: "The fact is in life you need to be ruthless at points to protect family and what's rightfully yours," he said. "It's definitely one of my favorite tracks on Winter Kills and has a signature that's all DevilDriver. It's the first track I laid and it's all first takes."
