Songfacts®:

  • James Devlin is a Grime MC from Dagenham, in East London. A lyrical prodigy who started on pirate radio at age 13, Devlin steadily rose through the grime ranks with relentlessly gritty tracks. At the beginning of 2010 he came to the attention of the mainstream after being named by the BBC in their "Sound Of" list of the most promising music acts for the year. In February 2010 he was signed to Island Records/Universal and this is his first single released by the label.
  • On this track Devlin attempts to brainwash the nation into "taking the scene for ransom" and "packing out stadiums with the fans singing my anthems."
  • The chorus is sung by Manchurian vocalist Jodie O'Connor who also featured on Roll Deep's chart-topper "Good Times" and Tinchy Stryder's single "In My System."
