Songfacts®:

  • George Harrison famously tended his garden and spent a lot of time outdoors, so it's fitting that his son, Dhani, developed a love of nature. In this song, he looks back at his younger days and tries to cope with the cold reality of modern life. "I'd gone to a place where I had just been meditating for like two years and really spending a lot of time in nature by myself," Harrison told Songfacts. "I just started like, stream-of-consciousness writing and a lot of stuff that I wrote then came to pass. It's weird, you can tune yourself in like a radio. I don't pretend to understand how I did it."
  • This was the third single from Harrison's first solo album, In///Parallel. He thought about releasing the album with his band thenewno2, but it became clear that it was his personal project.
  • Harrison has done a lot of work on film and TV soundtracks, which is apparent on this track. The soundscape goes on for 1:29 before the lyric comes in.
