Songfacts®:

  • The first single from Dillon Francis's debut album, Money Sucks, Friends Rule, the song became a hit in Europe after proving popular in night venues and in Zumba exercise classes. The song had to wait for over twelve months to break in the US, eventually entering the Hot 100 after featuring on the soundtrack of Furious 7.
  • Lyrically, the song consists of repeated proclamations by DJ Snake of "Get low when the whistle go," interspersed with some exclamations of "Barbes, Yalla Habibi." "Yalla Habibi" is an Arabic phrase translating to "Let's go, my love," whilst "Barbes" is a reference to the Algerian Group Orchestre National de Barbes. ("Get Low" samples the drums from their 1997 track "Alaoui (Live).")
  • The song was one of two DJ Snake tracks to be included on the Furious 7 soundtrack. The French DJ's hit tune "Turn Down For What" also featured.
  • This soundtracked Old Navy's Julia Louis-Dreyfus-starring "Dressed Like a Lawyer" advert.
