Songfacts®:

  • This romantic jam finds Diplo collaborating with Miguel. Over a house piano and throbbing guitar, the California singer reminds his girl of their sweet kissing and the feeling of his fingertips on her skin. He implores her to remember their intimate moments together when he's not around and not to "forget my love."

"I want to reach a sensual vibe, and who better to call than Miguel," Diplo told Apple Music, adding that it "still feels like a record you can hear at the club."
  • The song marks the second collaboration between Diplo and Miguel following RL Grime's 2018 track "Light Me Up" featuring Julia Michaels. That track originated from a demo Diplo played Grime from an old Jack U session they'd shelved.
  • Diplo recorded "Don't Forget My Love" for his 2022 eponymous album, the DJ's first long player using his stage name in 18 years. He released a country-pop album using his real name, Thomas Wesley, in 2020, but Diplo is the first record under his performing moniker since 2004's Florida.
