Guitarist Dan Donegan explained to Artist Direct about this song: "It was just, lyrically, David (singer David Draiman) writing about more abusive relationships, whether it be a guy or a woman, but in most cases that I'm familiar with the women that feel like they are stuck, whether it's a verbal or physical relationship, and they're too afraid to walk out of it; they're too afraid to start their lives over so they just stay and they deal with the pain or they just suffer through it, and it drives them to the point that they want to kill that person and they just can never walk out whether they have kids involved or whatever, they just deal with the abuse that they take until they finally snap. I never understood why they couldn't just get the courage to walk away. I know it is a difficult thing to make that decision, but sometimes you might have to do that. Sometimes it might be better for you to realize that something isn't working and you need to start your life over. I think maybe they're just afraid of doing that. They're putting up a facade for their friends and family that their relationship or their marriage may be perfect when in all actually it's not."
In the same interview Donegan was asked about 'dance-y' break in the middle of the track: He explained: "Right, we were trying to take the elements of those first three albums that we really like and expand off that. Definitely some of the electronics and some of the stuff that I've done in the past were always kind of experimental. I always had a pretty good sense of melodies and texturing and stuff like that but I was never the full on keyboard guy. I guess the good thing was that I could always experiment with it and come up with things that seemed to be more original and some of those elements, that's what I like about that song as well too. 'The Game' off of The Sickness had that whole electronic vibe to it as well, and 'Façade' had a pretty good message behind it too."
This is the closing track from the band's fourth studio album, their first self-produced release.

that said, nowadays, i sample more and more cases of the woman destroying the man by alimony, child benefits, ECT and i sampled some cases where there was a rape accusation and (even when it was proven false) the woman got away with no punishment

Zero from Nowhere, NjNot when this song first came out, but more recently my sister has been in a bad relationship with someone who was not physically, but verbally busive, along with being demanding and seeing other girls behind her back. She put herself through hell for so long but finally got the confidence and courage to break up with him. She even socked him in the face. Way to go sis! Well, she never fully got over him but she's way too good for him. So yeah, as much a I liked this song before it means even more now.
Critical from Asdf, WaIt's about an abusive relationship where to girl is finally going to kill the guy to be free.

My friend Chaz helped me fight back!- P.S. I did not hurt him I just blocked him so much it stoped him in tracks! (off the topic) I love this song!! But i Advise you not to let your five year old brother or sister to listen to disturbed It may result to bad dreams/night terror's. And they will fear the day Halloween comes around and will probibly have a hard time leaving the house.
