Songfacts®:

  • This song finds David Draiman calling out those self-delusional social justice warriors who become so wrapped up in their message that they become exactly what they're trying to make right.

    Now you've become
    Everything you claimed to fight
Through your need to feel you're right
You're the savior of nothing now

Draiman told Louder Sound: "We live in a world full of people that are so eager to marry themselves to a cause, one that they believe in so strongly, that they lose sight of it. You preach for tolerance so much that you become intolerant."

He added: "People are addicted to being offended and angry, and it's a sickness. Something that the wonderful world of social media is helping to perpetuate, on a level that has never been seen before in the history of humankind. It's nuts."
  • The album marked the return of bassist John Moyer, who hadn't played on a Disturbed album since 2010's Asylum because of his commitments to other projects. When Disturbed went on hiatus after Asylum, Moyer joined the supergroup Adrenaline Mob and formed the short-lived band Art of Anarchy with Scott Weiland. In 2015, the same year Disturbed released Immortalized, he became a full-time member of Operation: Mindcrime, a metal band fronted by former Queensryche singer Geoff Tate, until 2018.
