Songfacts®:

  • Divine Brown is a Canadian R&B singer and theater performer. This was the second single from her self-titled debut album.
  • The remix has achieved notoriety for being the song that bought together Drake (he raps the third verse) and his longtime producer Noah "40" Shebib. 40 recalled during a 2016 conversation with Canadian celebrity interviewer Nardwuar: "First song I produced on a real album. I was [Divine's] engineer. I was engineering her album and she believed in me enough to give me a chance to produce a record and she used one of my records and this was it."

Their meeting occurred when Canadian rapper Saukrates brought Drake through the studio. 40 recalled: "Saukrates brought him because Saukrates produced all the records on this album and I produced ["Twist My Hair" remix] so he got Drake in to come and do a remix. Drake and Boi-1da came to the studio and it was the first day I met Drake."
