Songfacts®:

  • This song features the vocal talents of Alicia Keys and Nicki Minaj. Khaled told ABC Radio it's one of his favorite tracks from the Grateful album.

"Man, this record right here means a lot to me," he said. "'Nobody' - when you hear the message, it's so much pain in there, but also, so much glory and so much victory at the same time. It's gonna uplift people, but at the same time, it's a big anthem."
  • Minaj appears on two Grateful tracks ("I Can't Even Lie" is the other one). However, this was the first time that Khaled had worked with Alicia Keys. The two female stars had appeared on the same record on one previous occasion, when Minaj guested on Keys' 2012 track "Girl On Fire (Inferno Version)."
  • Minaj targets her nemesis Remy Ma during her verse, rapping:

You know the liar will accuse you
You know the queen still reign
    It's just business as usual
Anything I tough, I bless it
    Track record so impressive
Open the Billboard Awards with a hit record

Remy Ma made a number of accusations about Nicki Minaj on her diss track "ShETHER." Minaj responds here by accusing Ma of being a liar.

Minaj's Billboard lyric is a reference to her opening up her 2017 Billboard Awards performance with "No Frauds," a song where she directly takes aim at Remy.
  • Khaled praised Minaj's bare delivery on the song, saying, "You could hear her pain. You could also hear her victory and her glory in her voice."
  • The song samples "Nobody Knows" by Pastor T. L. Barrett and the Youth For Christ Choir. You might recognize the gospel track from the "Make That Old" Curry 3 shoe ad featuring basketball star Stephen Curry.
