Songfacts®:

  • "Supposed To Be Loved" is the lead single from DJ Khaled's 14th studio album, Til Next Time. The upbeat trap song sees Lil Baby, Future and Lil Uzi Vert tenderly rapping about loving their romantic partners the way they feel they should.
  • Lil Baby raps on the chorus about trying to love his woman the way she deserves. He knows he's a thug, but he doesn't want her to treat him like a rapper. He looks to be there for her and support her, and wishes to make her life better.
  • Lil Baby raps the first verse. He deeply loves his girl and is committed to making her happy. They have sex at 4 a.m. inside a Cullinan truck on the roadside. Baby is so turned on he's willing to risk getting caught and making headlines.

Future takes the mic for the second verse. He also is smitten and wants to do whatever it takes to make her happy. He spends money on his woman, goes the extra mile, and even admits he's falling in love with her.

Likewise, Lil Uzi Vert is head over heels with their woman. They are so in love with her that they've got her name tattooed on his body. Even the success of their Pink Tape album means less to them than being with her.
  • Khaled has worked with Future and Lil Baby on several previous occasions. The duo previously appeared together on "Big Time," from the DJ/producer's 2022 album, God Did. He has never collaborated with Lil Uzi Vert before.
  • Khaled co-produced the song with 808 Mafia beatmaker TM88 (Lil Uzi Vert's "XO Tour Llif3" and "P2," Future and Drake's "Way 2 Sexy") They sample Michael Jackson's Thriller cut "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)," turning the instrumental into a romantic trap-rap song.
