Songfacts®:

  • Donny Osmond laces up his dancing shoes on this upbeat track where he's joined by Charlie Wilson of The Gap Band. In a Songfacts interview with Osmond, he explained how it came together.

"I had tried probably two or three different arrangements of producing that," he said. "I always thought in the back of my mind, 'Charlie would nail this thing.' And I had been a fan of Charlie's since 'You Dropped a Bomb on Me' came out in '82. I was like a kid in a candy store when I was producing his vocals.

But I called him up and said, 'I would love to do a duet with you.' He said, 'Send me the song.' He calls me back, and goes, 'Dude! Set up the session! I've got to be on this!'"
  • Near the end of the song, Charlie Wilson sings, "'Cause you turn me on," a line from his Gap Band song "You Dropped a Bomb on Me." This was Osmond's doing: He always loved how Wilson sang that line and insisted they find a place for it in "Let's All Dance."
  • Osmond and Charlie Wilson wrote this song with Ant Clemons, Dammo Farmer, Rance Dopson, Quintin Gullege, and Seige Monstracity. Osmond played keyboards, drums, horns and guitar on the track and also produced it.
  • "Let's All Dance" is featured in Osmond's Vegas show, which he launched a Harrah's shortly before the album was released. Growing up in the Osmond family, Donny had to learn to dance as well as sing, a skill set that served him well.
