Songfacts®:

  • This song was the result of DragonForce trying to outdo their shredder "Through The Fire And Flames," which appeared on their 2006 Inhuman Rampage album. "We actually said, 'The first song on the album we've got to just go really extreme.'" Guitarist Sam Totman said in our interview. "It's pretty over-the-top, especially the intro."
  • Songwriting credits on this one go to band members Herman Li, Sam Totman, Vadim Pruzhanov and Fred Leclercq. The song has a similar theme to "Through The Fire And Flames": battle in a far-off land.
  • The song got a Grammy nomination in the category Best Metal Performance, losing to the Metallica song "My Apocalypse."
