Songfacts®:

  • Here, Drake and 21 Savage share their views on contemporary courtship.

Drake recalls some of his mishaps in romantic encounters and some of the toxic women that have plagued him. He drains his accounts to make his women love him, but the relationships are one-sided. He sarcastically blames himself for buying her a Rolex and a G Wagon – he even splashed out on a condo within the first month.

21 Savage starts his short verse by referencing the small semiautomatic pistol he wears on his waist. He then turns romantic and tells his girl he loves her and is trying to change.
  • Drake and 21 Savage recorded "Hours In Silence" for their joint album Her Loss. The rappers' bond goes back to 2016 when the pair linked up for the standalone single "Sneakin." Her Loss lets them do what they do best together: diss entitled lovers, flex on their luxury lifestyles, and, especially for 21 Savage, let y'all know he's still armored and dangerous.
  • Drake's right-hand man Noah "40" Shebib samples DJ Paul, Juicy J, and Kingpin Skinny Pimp's 1994 track "Talk Ya Ass Off Part 2." The producer also borrowed the background vocals from Drake's 2013 Nothing Was The Same song "Come Thru."
