  • Drake White wrote this with Monty Criswell and Shane Minor, inspired by a comment from his father-in-law about his wife, Alex. "They live on the river, and we're always grilling and drinking out behind their house," White shared, "and [my wife] was sitting there, and [my father-in-law] was about six beers in, and he was like, 'Man, she makes you look good!' I thought that was cool."

"It's a great way to honor that spirit that she has," the singer continued. "She's always caring for other people, and, especially as an artist, I'm constantly needing something. To have somebody who cares so much and sacrifices so much for a song and for music and for the fans … I'm just so thankful."
  • White called the track in a video teaser his "tribute to soul music." "Growing up in Alabama, I was always obsessed with soul music," he explained.
  • The song's music video was shot by much sought-out Nashville director Shaun Silva (Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson and Sugarland). Alex appears in the visual with her husband – she also featured in White's "Livin' the Dream" music clip.

"My wife is the best thing that's ever happened to me," White gushed. "The concept of, when she's standing beside me, I look a lot better than when she's not standing beside me, is what this song was written off of."
  • This was named International Song Of The Year at the 2017 British Country Music Association Awards.
