  • In October 2017, French model and adult film actress Sophie Brussax had a baby named Adonis, whom she claimed was fathered by Drake. A few months later, the child was referenced by Pusha T in his Drake diss track "The Story of Adidon." During this song the Toronto MC acknowledges that he does indeed have a son called Adonis.

Drake goes on to explain that he kept Adonis hidden as he wanted to keep his son away from the media spotlight.

I wasn't hiding my kid from the world, I was hiding the world from my kid
Breaking news in my life I don't run to the blogs
The only ones I want to tell are in my phone I can call

The Toronto MC didn't want Adonis' being gossiped about by people on social media, but those close to him have always known of his existence.
  • Drake also references his son in passing on the Scorpion song "8 out of 10" and admits on the closing track "March 14" that he took a DNA test in order to confirm he is Adonis' father.
  • The chorus is a chopped-up Mariah Carey vocal sample from "Emotions." It is taken from the gospel-style intro before the dance portion on the 12" Club Mix of the singer's hit song.

Asked about her reaction to the sample during an installment of Genius Level, Carey said she heard it over the phone first of all and at first she was waiting for them to speed it up. "They ended up using pretty much all of it," Carey added. "I was like, 'Okay, well, I'm so glad they liked it.' I was very flattered by it."
