  • Born Temilade Openiyi in Lagos, Nigeria, as a child Tem moved with her family to Britain. She first gained recognition with her 2019 single, "Try Me," which garnered several million streams across music platforms. However, Tems' true breakthrough was "Essence," her duet with fellow Nigerian artist Wizkid, which chartered worldwide during the summer of 2021.
  • Drake has collaborated with African artists before, most notably with Wizkid on his 2016 global smash "One Dance."
