Songfacts®:

  • Drake is joined by Migos rapper Quavo and Travis Scott on this braggadocio track in which they boast about their success and wealth and how they won't let others ride their wave (follow their style). Quavo namedrops sporting heroes Michael Jordan and Michael Phelps on the hook to make his point.
  • The song title refers to Portland, Oregon, home of the NBA team Trail Blazers. According to a tweet by Scott, it is the rapper's, "fav place in America to find peace."
  • Drake's links with Migos date back to 2013 when he came up with a remix of their single "Versace," which became their first Hot 100 hit. Drake and Scott previously joined forces with Dreezy on "Company" off 2015's If You're Reading This It's Too Late.
  • The pan flute-driven beat was supplied by Fort Erie, Ontario native Murda Beatz. The hip hop record producer has also worked for the likes of French Montana ("No Shopping") and Nicki Minaj ("No Frauds"). The track was co-produced by Murda's frequent collaborator, Cubeatz.
  • The song gave Travis Scott his first Top 10 hit on the Hot 100.
