Songfacts®:

  • Dry The River are a folk rock band who are fronted by Norwegian Peter Liddle, who is a former medical student. The other band members are guitarist Matt Taylor, bassist Scott Miller, violinist Will Harvey and drummer Jon Warren. This is the opening track of their debut album, Shallow Bed, which was released March 5, 2012.
  • This is an old song of Liddle's - it was previously titled "Shallow Bed" and was re-imagined by Dry the River for the album. The singer explained to The Sun why he co-opted the song's old name for their first record. "We liked the fact that the album would be titled under an old theme or idea," he said. "It seemed to pull together all of what we've been through."
