Songfacts®:

  • Dua Lipa recorded this flirtatious and sultry pop track for the soundtrack of Fifty Shades Freed.

So, why, why, don't we get a little…high?

Fifty Shades Freed is the third film in the erotic film series about the relationship between college graduate Anastasia Steele and young business magnate, Christian Grey. This haunting tune fits in perfectly with the sexual chemistry between the two leads.
  • Teenage Chicago producer Whethan supplied the beat. He first gained recognition for his mix of indie future synths with electropop, but he told The Fader "High" represents a shift in tone for him.

"I wanted to go in a new direction with this song and I think it show's more of my alternative side," he said. "I've been influenced by a lot of alternative and bedroom pop lately, so It's exciting for me to start to show this new style. This is the first time I've had my song in a movie and I've been waiting for this one to come out for a long time, I hope you're as excited as I am."
