Songfacts®:

  • Dua Lipa was born in London, and after living with her parents in their native Kosovo for a while, she moved back to England in her mid-teens to pursue her schooling and work on her songwriting. "Lions & Tigers & Bears" was her debut effort at penning a song.

"That was the very first thing I wrote, and it's pretty much a freestyle," she told Spin with a laugh. "We were just playing around with some chords, and then it was just the first thing that came into my mind. In the end, the producer decided that he didn't need a pop act to develop, and he didn't want to work with me."
