• Here's a couple of Songfacts given to us directly by the band's frontman and principle songwriter, Josh Doyle:
  
  Writer/Frontman Josh Doyle was going over the arrangement on acoustic guitar with producer Steve Power at Battery Studios when an unexpected guest popped his head in the door - Clash legend Joe Strummer. Later in the recording process Josh requested that the song be recorded again because "it wasn't punky enough." Coincidence? Steve Power compromised by recording just the end of the song with a heavier guitar sound, racking up an additional bill of 10,000 pounds!
• The song was chosen by pop guru and chairman of the Eurovision committee Jonathan King as his pick for the UK Eurovision entry for 2000. In spite of a guarantee of reaching the top 5 for public vote, Dum Dums turned down the opportunity, deciding it was too much of a risk to their indie cred, which was also the reason in turning down the sold out Smash Hits tour later in the year.
