Songfacts®:

  • Here, Ella Henderson is joined by Tom Greenan to croon a flirtatious track about a mutual attraction. Though he has "bad tattoos and smells like booze," she is finding herself falling in love with him. Greenan is drawn to Henderson as he feels she is "someone I could be myself with," but they are both a little bit drunk and listeners are left wondering if they'll still feel the same way about each other once they sober up.
  • Ella Henderson wrote the song with the singer James Arthur, and the London-based songwriting and record production team of TMS, who comprise Tom "Froe" Barnes, Ben Kohn and Peter "Merf" Kelleher. Henderson's other collaborations with TMS include the songs "Waiting" and "Five Tattoos."
  • Henderson first recorded the song with James Arthur for her Chapter Two album and debuted it in Leeds on November 16, 2017 during her support set on Arthur's Back From the Edge Tour. She scrapped the record after separating from Syco Music in 2018.
  • Henderson re-recorded the track with Tom Grennan once she'd signed with Asylum Records. She explained to The Sun that Arthur was unavailable as he was busy working on new music. "It was never about getting someone to replace James, but Tom just made it his own and it suits his character so well," she said. "There's only so many people that could have taken it on, especially when I'm singing about someone with bad tattoos."
