Songfacts®:

  • Ellie Goulding recorded this song for the Bridget Jones's Baby soundtrack. Lyrically, the slow-building ballad addresses the feeling of remaining in love long after the sparks first flew. She said:

"I love doing things for films, I had so many film soundtracks when I was young... And I do love to sing a ballad. This song just feels like the summary of everything that happens in the film and everything's that's happened to Bridget in her life. She's talking about having this love for someone that doesn't go away and [how] two people can be very different but they come together still and that's basically what this song's about."
  • The song was co-written by Swedish singer-songwriter Tove Lo, who is best known for her "Habits (Stay High)" single. She penned "Still Falling" as a member of Max Martin's writing collective Wolf Cousins with Rickard Göransson, Ilya Salmanzadeh, and Shellback.
