  • According to Philip Norman's book Sir Elton: The Definitive Biography, "I've Been Loving You" was the first song he released as Elton John, in March 1968. (Previously he was known as Reg Dwight). The song was put out by This Record Co. via Philips to coincide with his 21st birthday, and was written entirely by Elton although Bernie Taupin received a credit. It was produced in the Dick James Music studio by Caleb Quaye, who also played on some of the early Elton John albums. >>>

  • Paul from Marysville, WaCaleb was also a member of the Elton John Band for a couple of albums and tours from '75-76. He appeared on Rock of the Westies and Blue Moves.
