Songfacts®:

  • This track features American hip-hop recording artist Jay Electronica and poet Áine Zion. Speaking with BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac, Sandé explained she met Zion through a mutual friend in Los Angeles and started hanging out on the beach. "We just really found we were real kindred spirits," she said, "And we would speak about creative ideas and music. And Aine read me some of her poetry and her inspirations and then we just became great friends after that."

Zion performed her parts in New York in 2014, and then sent them to Sandé in London, where the Scottish songstress and producer Chris Loco continued to work on the laid back track. They met Jay Electronica in the summer of 2015 who then added his 16 bars.
  • Sandé's mellow vocals find her exploring freedom, passion and the depths of her love.

    Let me love
    Let me touch
    We can give it up
Let me drink from the fountain

She told Fader: "It was the first time for me just exploring sexuality, and sides of me that I always thought were like, 'You can't be like that, if you wanna be a lady.' It's not really an area that I'd properly expressed in myself, or thought was important. But I'm a grown woman. There's a strength in femininity and there's a strength in just being honest. It felt like a real release."
