Songfacts®:

  • Empire of the Sun team up here with Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham, who contributes a guitar solo. "We reached out, and he was really into the band," Empire's Luke Steele told Billboard magazine. "We asked if he would come down to our studios, and he's just such a humble legend. We spent about eight hours just trading licks and jamming."

"'To Her Door' was born out of that session, and he came back the next day and brought his son," he continued. "He's just become the godfather to us, the godfather of so many things; production, artistry. It's kind of amazing."
  • Steele told ABC Radio about the collaboration. "When you're sitting with Lindsey, it's just like magic," he said. "Notes would just appear and things fly in the room and a dove disappears."
