Songfacts®:

  • This party track was produced by The Cataracs, who first came to prominence with their contribution to Far East Movement's chart-topper "Like a G6." The LA Valley Electro-Pop duo originally consisted of Niles Hollowell-Dhar and David "Campa" Singer-Vine, but when Campa announced that he was leaving to do his own thing in late 2012, he gave his blessing for Hollowell-Dhar to continue on without him. Working with Iglesias on his tenth studio album was one of Hollowell-Dhar's first projects since continuing as a one-man act. The song was debuted by Ryan Seacrest on his radio show on July 22, 2013.
  • Iglesias wrote the song around the lyric, "Gimme some of that." The line is something the singer often says to his girlfriend, retired professional tennis player Anna Kournikova, at home. "I always walk around my house saying, 'Gimme some of that,'" he explained to Radio.com. "If I'm hungry, I say, 'Gimme some of that.' If I'm horny, I say, 'Gimme some of that.' So I go to the studio and I kept on saying that phrase and we wrote a song around it."
