Songfacts®:

  • The title track to Escape The Fate's sixth album asks us to look past the superficial to see the real person inside. No matter our differences, we all have something in common, we are all human.

"This video and song mean a lot to me," lead singer Craig Mabbitt said. "Having gone through abuse myself and suffering from mental health issues, I want people to know that you can come out stronger and by being more accepting of one another, we can do that together. We all have a story to tell. We can all try harder to live our lives from a place of love and understanding. We all have these abilities because we are all human. 'I Am Human' is my testament to that."
  • Directed by Robyn August, the video opens with dialogue of various people explaining how they have misjudged. Throughout the clip, they hold up messages on a chalkboard that contradict their stereotypes.
  • The band solicited stories from fans to compile an "I Am Human 2" video. Fans were asked to explain what makes them human and use the Cinebody app to tell the tale.
