Songfacts®:

  • Veracity is the first album from Evacuate Chicago, which was formed by Psychostick members Alex Preiss, Josh Key and Rob Kersey as an outlet for more serious music. Preiss told us about "Deny": "This is the first song I ever wrote! It's about two friends of mine who were going through the exact same thing with their ex-girlfriends at the same time. They had just broken up, and both of them were really distraught about it and didn't know what to do. I'm not one to offer my opinion unless someone asks, so I wrote the song about my feelings on the subject. I felt that these girls didn't appreciate my friends, and they had no intention of ever getting back with them." (check out their official site at evacuatechicago.com)
