He told The Daily Mirror:"The way I wrote about love in this song was like writing about a drug – like taking ecstasy opens your eyes to all the love in the world. Which is something you used to get a lot of people writing about, love being like a drug, being addictive, hard to resist, amazing but painful."
  • Example told The Daily Mirror that he and his producers (Fraser T Smith and Critikal) had around ten variants of this song ("an electro one, a disco one, a French house one, we had a one that sounded like trance") before coming up with the final version, which was inspired by Baby D, of "Let Me Be Your Fantasy" fame. "When you hear the piano on it you can really hear it," he said.
