Songfacts®:

  • In this upbeat dance song, Exposé have been exposed to love, and they like how it feels. It was written and produced by Lewis Martineé, who put the group together in 1983. At the time, they were known as X-Posed, which is why he wrote "Exposed To Love" - he wanted a song with the name of the group. By the time the song was released in 1985, the group's name had changed to Exposé.
  • Arista Records signed Exposé after their song "Point Of No Return" took off in Florida dance clubs. They issued it as a single in 1985 and it went to #1 on Billboard's Dance chart. The next single was "Exposed To Love," which reached #19.
  • The group at the time was Alejandra Lorenzo, Laurie Miller, and Sandeé Casañas. Lorenzo sang lead on "Exposed To Love" and "Point Of No Return." When they started making their debut album in 1986, they got swapped out for three other girls who became Exposé and landed hits like "Come Go With Me" and "Seasons Change." On the album (Exposure), the original version of "Exposed To Love" is on the tracklist. Their original "Point Of No Return" was on early copies, but was replaced with a version re-recorded by the new group.
