Songfacts®:

  • A track from the second Faith No More album, this song finds lead singer Chuck Mosley engaged in a conversation with someone named Anne. In much of the song, Anne is offering encouragement and putting him at ease:

Anne, what am I supposed to do?
It's been bugging them since the day that I was born.

She said, "Do whatever the hell you want to do! Now is the time to do whatever you want, and it will still turn out great. You've got the world at your feet."
  • There really is an Anne. Her name is Anne D'Agnillo and she's a good friend to Chuck Mosley. In our interview with Mosley, he said: "I'd get all upset or emotional or whatever, and she would talk to me and tell me how easy everything can be. Just a pep talk, basically. I met her in LA a long time ago - her and her boyfriend. I'm still friends with them."
  • The video was one of the first directed by Tamra Davis, who went on to direct the films Billy Madison and Half-Baked.
