Songfacts®:

  • This frantic rocker deals with religion. It's about how you can not believe in any particular faith yet still be happy. "Organized religion was never something I really bought in to," Five Finger Death Punch lead singer Ivan Moody said.
  • "Salvation" is part of The Way Of The Fist, the first album, by Five Finger Death Punch. The title ties in with the band name, which was inspired by the 2004 movie Kill Bill: Volume 2. In the film, Uma Thurman's character uses the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique; band founder Zoltan Bathory couldn't remember all that, so he called it the "Five Finger Death Punch." When he suggested it as a band name it was a joke at first, but they decided it would work really well because it conveys danger and aggression.
