Songfacts®:

  • The video was directed by Wayne Isham, who has also shot clips for such artists as Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi and Avenged Sevenfold. The visual includes footage of FFDP's October 8, 2015 performance at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.
  • During an appearance on Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta's official podcast, The Jasta Show, FFFDP bassist Chris Kael stated that the band wanted to take a different approach with the video compared to the clips the band had worked on in the past. "We've had our fair share of friends of the band that were doing videos and those videos came out great [because of the] different interpersonal connections [we had] with the directors," he explained. "But when you wanna make a statement, Wayne is the dude."

"He's got the resume. All those great videos… I mean, I remember, whatever it was, junior high or high school, I can't recall at this point, sitting at home, rushing home to see where Mötley Crüe's 'Home Sweet Home' was on the Top 20 countdown they had every day out there. And fast forward fifteen, twenty years later…. Boom! My video."
  • The song was used in an essay from a Russian presidential aide, which linked Donald Trump's 2016 presidential victory and the following year's sexual harassment scandal with a widespread desire among Americans to "wash it all away." Putin adviser Vladislav Surkov penned a cryptic column for the state-run news channel RT on November 7, 2017 in which he wrote regarding one of the song's lyrics:

"The line 'Done with all your hypocrisy' sounds like a prophecy, a verdict, and as the motto of a new era."
