  • When Fleur East performed "Uptown Funk" during the UK X Factor semifinal, she received unanimous praise from the judges. The listeners loved her rendition too and as a result her cover topped the iTunes chart.

This funky song with a brassed-up chorus was penned by East with Electric, JHart and Camille Purcell. It was clearly inspired by Mark Ronson's smash hit.
  • The song was released as Fleur East's first single since finishing as runner-up on the 2014 X Factor competition. It was launched on November 6, 2015 to coincide with her return to X Factor where she performed the tune.
  • This soundtracked UK supermarket Asda's 2015 Christmas advertising campaign. "The first time I watched it I was on the edge of my sofa," East laughed to Digital Spy. "My mouth was open the whole time. I couldn't believe it was my song!"

"I used to shop in Asda all the time," she added. "Every now and then I still go in to get a little salad for lunch."
