Songfacts®:

  • Robin Thicke appears on the summery tune alongside Earth Wind & Fire bassist Verdine White. It was the first released song to feature Thicke since his 2014 album Paula. He told Billboard magazine: "Flo had this track that he asked me to jump on. He makes great summer records, and with Verdine White playing on the song it was a good fit."
  • The rattling sound preceding the chorus was made using a vibraslap, a percussion instrument that's been around since the late '60s. The '90s alt-rock band Cake also adopted it as one of their signature sounds, which can be heard on their 2001 track "Short Skirt/Long Jacket," among others.
