Songfacts®:

  • This is the title track from Colorado rock and hip-hop group Flobots' third album. "The circle in the square is an invitation to imagine a non-exclusive revolution," MC Brer Rabbit explained to Spinner. "It is too easy to draw lines in the sand and point out the flaws of the other side while ignoring the faults of those who share your opinions. Change does not come through cheerleading, it does not come when by talking only with people who think just like you. It comes when you step across your boundaries, into the circle and make beautiful messes with radiant strangers."
