Songfacts®:

  • Over a pedal steel and banjo-laden instrumentation, this nostalgic, mid-tempo tune finds Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley singing about how Friday is the best night of the week.

    Two bottles of Buds
    Two speakers in the trunk
Two people in love just bumpin' the night

"That's a little different for us," Kelley told Taste of Country. "It's a little different tempo and it feels like right when you get off work Friday at five and you're like just getting in your car, it's like that song you wanna hear."
  • The song was written by Nashville songwriters Chris Tompkins and Rodney Clawson, who also penned Anything Goes' lead single "Dirt." The third writer was Bart Allmand, who is the Vice President of Radio Promotion for FGL's Big Loud Mountain label.
  • Of the twelve songs on Anything Goes, ten include the word "night" in their lyrics.
