Songfacts®:

  • Thom Yorke guests on this dreamy R&B track, furthering a bond between the two artists. Their previous collaborations included the Radiohead frontman soliciting Flying Lotus to remix his band's "Reckoner," as well as his singing on the Cosmogramma track "...And the World Laughs With You.
  • Flying Lotus, whose real name is Steve Ellison, told the background to the song to NME: "'Electric Candyman' was a nickname that was given to me by friends," he explained, laughing, "connected to a circumstance in my apartment that revolved around drugs."

He added: "I told (Thom) the theme, the tone of the album, and he was like, 'I think I've got something.' He's not afraid to go to the dark place."
  • We can't help thinking of Beyoncé when Yorke chants "Say my name" in the song's refrain.
