Songfacts®:

  • Foxes wrote this uplifting dance song with Jonny 'Ghostwriter' Harris who also co-wrote Rudimental's UK #1 "Waiting All Night." The pair collaborated on half of the Glorious tracks including her breakthrough single, "Youth."
  • Los Angeles-based hit producer and songwriter Toby Gad also contributed to the song. His resume also includes UK#1 hit singles by Beyoncé' ("If I Were a Boy"), JLS ("Love You More"), Nicole Scherzinger ("Don't Hold Your Breath" and Sam Bailey ("Skyscraper").
  • The song was released as the third single from Foxes debut album Glorious. Regarding the record title, Foxes, said: "It's been a long journey making this album and 'Glorious' was the last song I wrote for it. It's about never giving up on something which I felt tied the whole thing together."
  • Speaking with New Zealand's Coup De Main magazine about her songwriting process, Foxes explained: "I work with a guy called Ghostwriter back in the UK and a lot of the music has been done in his little bedroom in Kentish Town, so it's all very kind of laid-back."

"I have a big white book that I write from - a bit like a big diary - and I draw or write lines in there, and I read a lot of poetry as well, and kind of create the songs that way," she added. "I start with a lyric and then kind of work the production around that, really."
